Minerva Castellanos Morales

Minerva Castellanos is a biotechnologist from Tec de Monterrey and bioentrepreneur, also iGEM alumni, who has become an entrepreneur to build a new ecosystem to improve the bioeconomy in Mexico and Latin America. She is the Co-Founder of Scintia, a startup that facilitates the education and research in SynBio, providing innovative and affordable equipment, producing their own reagents as well as sourcing DNA. An she´s a fellow of the Leadership program from the Global Community Biotechnology Initiative from Media Lab MIT. Minerva is currently an active member of DIYbio community in Mexico, and she’s part of GOSH (Gathering for Open Science and Hardware) community. She is coordinating “Sinestesia” a set of bioart exhibitions in Mexico focus on science communication for education purposes. She was selected as one of the 100 young biotech leaders of LATAM in 2017 by the organization Allbiotech, in which she´s collaborating for the 2018 summit. She also was honored with the “Premio Mujer Tec” 2019, Woman award in the category of entrepreneurship. Minerva is a visionary when talking about the frontier technologies in bio-disciplines but also a committed inventor trying to create real solutions for the LATAM region. Her vision leads towards an exponential impact on society, which will change the way we carry our daily activities and how we interact with the world.
